Tennium grows and lands in Andorra with a women’s WTA tournament
Andorra adds and continues. The Crèdit Andorrà Open, organized by Tennium, will be the first women’s WTA 125 in the country’s history. The Women’s Tennis Association tournament will take place from November 28 to December 4 at the Poliesportiu de Andorra, where MoraBanc Andorra will play its matches. The agreement is sponsored by Crèdit Andorra, Govern d’Andorra and Comú d’Andorra la Vella.

Tennium is a global tennis platform headquartered in Barcelona with a presence in Argentina, Belgium and the United States. The company, led by Belgian Kristoff Puelinckx and former French tennis player Sebastien Grosjean, has experience organizing tournaments in this category in Uruguay, Argentina and Spain. Tennium is also the organizer of ATP tournaments such as the Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell-Trofeo Conde de Godó or the ATP 250 in Belgium and Argentina.

The Minister of Culture and Sports of the Pyrenean country, Sílvia Riva, has highlighted that hosting the event allows Andorra to be placed on the world women’s tennis map and also does so at a special moment with the outstanding career of the Andorran tennis player. “The celebration of the WTA 125 in the country is the most important event that the country has hosted in terms of tennis, after the 2004 Challenger that was held in Escaldes-Engordany”, she has highlighted.
Conxita Marsol, consol major of Andorra la Vieja, has highlighted “the relevance for Andorra of an event like this, due to the media repercussion and the promotion of the country on a global scaleme”.
On the other hand, Enric Molina, partner of Tennium and CEO of the tournament, has expressed his satisfaction at being able to carry out the tournament, emphasizing that the dream of organizing a top-level professional tournament in Andorra has come true and that the objective of this is that “it be an event that transcends sport, getting involved in the social sphere, that serves as a platform for Andorran sport and leaves a legacy in the country”.
