Russia began developing its space station
Sergei Krikalev, director of Roscosmos for manned space programs, said that Russia is developing its own space station. He mentioned this at a press conference dedicated to the launch of the Crew Dragon ship. Recall that the launch was carried out today at 12:00 pm comfort time (19:00 Moscow time) from the launch pad of the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The crew of the Crew-5 mission included Russian Anna Kikina.
Krikalev said that Russian specialists had begun preliminary design work. So far, there is no exact data on how the Russian station will be built and what modules you will have. However, the future station will also be with the RIAC partnership, Krikalev noted. Until Russia builds its own station, it uses the International Space Station (ISS). The agreement on the results of Russia in the ISS project expires in 2024, and in July of this year it became known that the Russian side intended to withdraw after this deadline. True, then there was evidence that Russia announced work on the ISS after 2024. Krikalev said that the final decision on this matter could be made next year.
