New cars with a camera system drive through Prague. It reveals a covered license plate as well as a hole in the road
How the new technology works in practice he explained in an interview for Hospodářské Noviny Adam Blažek, director and co-founder of Iterait. “We use very precise methodologies to locate potholes or damaged traffic signs. The city then takes over the data and then reacts to it in some way. We are then able to send a photo, similar to the case of car monitoring. Our system finds places that are clearly bad, easy to see, as well as those that are clearly good. But then there is a zone where subjective feeling depends on whether it is a problem or not. But that’s up to the city to decide, because we’re only in the position of a technical supplier.”
Like the previous technology, this one also works with the vehicle register. Therefore, according to Blažka, the pasted-on registration plate does not make much sense. “When we know the rest, the make and model, it is possible to find out beyond any doubt what specific car it is,” he added. Currently, several Renault Capturs equipped with artificial intelligence from the company Iterait are driving around Prague. However, by the end of the year, their total number should will be 12 cars and should increase over time.Everything naturally depends on the interest of individual city districts.
