new booster doses arrive in the Principality
They are suitable for the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 variant which currently represent the vast majority of contamination.
While Monaco, France and all of Europe fear a new wave this fall or winter, the Prince’s Government indicates that the bivalent Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will be available next week in the Principality. By “bivalent”, understand that the vaccine is adapted to the variants currently in circulation (either the original strain as well as the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 variants).
Please note that this vaccine is only accessible to people with a vaccination schedule comprising at least two vaccine injections or an injection accompanied by a documented infection (PCR test or positive antigen).
If you wish to benefit from this booster dose, you are free to contact the Covid-19 Call Center at 92.05.55.00, reachable 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also book an appointment online at https://vaccination-covid19.gouv.mc Or on https://patient.monacosante.mc/fr/vaccination-covid-19/monaco. It should be noted that the monovalent Comirnaty vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech remains available for the first injection of people aged 12 and over.
Who is this dose for?
As specified in the press release from the Prince’s Government, this bivalent booster dose, accessible to all, is particularly recommended for:
- people aged 60 and over
- pregnant women
- people aged 80 and over
- people who are immunocompromised or suffering from one or more comorbidities
As a reminder, the incidence rate in Monaco is increasing. It was 197 at the last reading in the Principality, against 138 the previous week.
