More than 390,000 Salzburg residents are called upon to vote for the Federal President next Sunday. Wednesday is the last opportunity to apply in writing to your home municipality for voting cards. Voting cards can be picked up in person at the municipal offices up to Friday noon.
The election of the Austrian Federal President will take place on Sunday, October 9th. Voting cards can still be applied for in writing in the municipality of residence up to and including October 5, this is possible in person until October 7, delayed 12:00 p.m. All opening hours of the 522 Salzburg polling stations, as well as further information, can be found on the Website of the State of Salzburg.
Exactly 392,612 Salzburg residents are entitled to vote for the future Federal President on October 9th. The first polling stations open at 6.45 a.m. on Sunday, the last stations close at 4 p.m. Anyone who votes by voting card must apply for it. Valid cards must be submitted to the district electoral authorities by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday or to the polling stations themselves during opening hours.
Seven candidates stand for election
The current incumbent Alexander van der Bellen and six other presidential candidates are up for election: Walter Rosenkranz (FPÖ), former FPÖ and BZÖ politician Gerald Grosz, lawyer and pausing “Kronen Zeitung” columnist Tassilo Wallentin, Michael Brunner (MFG) , shoe producer Heinrich Staudinger and Dominik Wlazny (beer party).
