“It can be expected that there will be partial traffic restrictions when the government convoys pass, however we are not planning any closures,” First Deputy Police Chief Tomáš Lerch assures drivers.

“Similarly, in the vicinity of Prague Castle, or on other backbone roads leading to the center of the capital, it may also happen that officers from the Prague police will temporarily regulate traffic lights in order to ensure the so-called green wave for the smooth passage of vehicles,” explains the deputy Lerch.
The people of Prague must expect partial complications in traffic during both days of the summit. Therefore, the policy recommends that people primarily use public transport.
The airport does not expect any restrictions
The summit of the leaders of the European Union will also affect Václav Havel Airport. Due to the specific measures for the clearance of individual state delegations, some flights may be delayed. However, ordinary passengers do not expect any restrictions at the airport.
Airport spokesperson Klára Divíšková describes possible complications: “Due to possible queues during the summit, we only recommend passengers to plan their trip to the airport well in advance. As for traffic restrictions, nothing will happen there. We can really only expect minor delays.”
The entire area of Prague Castle has also been closed since yesterday. The restriction will last until Saturday. Hradčanské náměstí remains open, but even there the traffic will partially limit the arrival of delegations.
