ALL ANTWERP. “Every day a new dream, that’s important” (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Momo Kamatari (27).
There is no better place to enjoy the sun than on the Grote Markt. Well, unfortunately I don’t get much joy out of it, because I’m on my way to an important appointment. Sometimes you have to work a little to find joy. A few years ago my future as a welder was assured, but I soon realized that sector is really not for me. I went into the hospitality industry and I like that a lot better.”
“I arrived in Belgium about ten years ago. I grew up in Burundi, but my mom moved 22 years ago. I lived there for the first seven years, now Antwerp has been my home for three years. And I want to assure you, that’s how it really feels. I have a lot of friends, family and nice colleagues, that helps a lot.”
“However, Brussels has not completely disappeared from my life. I still play basketball with a friend from the capital. Our team is being reinforced by a number of local guys from Merksem. A nice mix.”
“I enjoy life, without rushing specific goals. I think it’s important that every day brings new messages, dreams and surprises. As long as that’s the case, I’m a happy man.” (lava)
