Mail Boxes Etc. (MBE) would take over the majority of the 35 post offices awaiting closure in Budapest as part of the company’s network construction, the company that operates the postal and business service network told MTI on Wednesday.

Hannya Ernesto, the managing director of MBE Magyarország, added in the statement that in addition to taking over the buildings, they also plan to keep the employees there. According to their ideas, the public service status of the converted post offices would remain. The company uses official postal rates for letter shipments, for other parcels, you can choose from a number of intermediary services depending on price and transit time.
Mail Boxes Etc. was founded in the United States in 1980 and operates in 53 countries with 2,900 stores and more than 12,000 employees.
The Hungarian company MBE Magyarország Kft. joined the franchise network of Mail Boxes Etc. in 2019. The company achieved HUF 64,881 million in sales in 2021, and this year they expect sales of over HUF 120 million.
