Abuse case is also enough to the Wolfgangsee
This was announced by the Ferienhort association – a large facility that has existed since 1888 and organizes summer camps for children and young people – on Tuesday at APA’s request. As Philipp Schrangl, member of the board and legal advisor of the association, announced in an interview with the APA, after the previously known case – a former participant of the camp in 2013 reported abuse against the Viennese sports teacher during a massage, which from still “Bound up” due to unexplained circumstances – now another person affected has been reported.
This – according to Schrangl a former participant who was later employed as a supervisor in the holiday resort – was abused “around 2008” by the Viennese pedagogue, who from 1990 to 2010, with interruptions during the summer months, worked outside of school as a holiday supervisor in the Salzkammergut.
Victim speaks of “sexual assault”
The incident reported to the association’s ombudsman was “not rape”, “but the victim felt it was sexual assault,” said Schrangl. “We’re now finding out what happened,” Schrangl assured.
According to his wishes, the person concerned will either be accompanied to the police to have the facts recorded, or the white ring will be bitten to support the man.
Also “helpers” smuggled into the holiday resort
In addition, at least one of the two accomplices of the Viennese teacher was “smuggled” into the holiday resort. But the teacher took him to us in 2008 to help him set up the training equipment,” Schrangl said.
The “helper” was in the camp for a total of three days and assisted the sports teacher with apparatus gymnastics. At this point in time, “to our knowledge, there were no serious attacks, and he was never alone with children,” Schrangl reported.
Girl speaks of “videos with objectionable content”
However, the young man, who was still a teenager himself at the time, later texted a girl he had met at the holiday resort via Skype. “The girl claims that after the summer she received videos with inappropriate, offensive content from him,” Schrangl explained.
This case was “of course thoroughly investigated”. The same applies to the question of whether the second possible accomplice of the sports teacher – a basketball coach – was ever employed in the holiday resort. There is currently no evidence of this.
