A case of murder committed with unusual cruelty was discussed in Debrecen
Debrecen – The perpetrator beat two elderly acquaintances with a brick and his bare hands, dragged the helpless man into the woodshed, his wife into the shed and tied their limbs together with plastic string.
The Debrecen Jury, which acted in the second instance, concluded the trial, listened to the genetic expert, and corrected the groundlessness of the first-instance judgment. It established a different factual situation from the first-instance judgment. He recorded that the accused had an unknown accomplice, whose DNA sample was found at the scene on the rope with which the victims were tied.
The rope also had the defendant’s pattern on it. According to the opinion of the court of second instance, the abuse leading to the death of the victims was carried out by the unknown person, while the accused supports the support. It was not possible to establish that the perpetrators took any valuables. Therefore, according to the law in force at the time of the commission (2011), the sentencing panel classified the defendant’s act as the crime of manslaughter committed with particular cruelty as an accessory to a crime.
Due to the partial commission and the very significant passage of time, the defendant’s life sentence was reduced to 17 years in prison. In other parts, the decision affected by the appeals was upheld. The judgment is final.
In October 2021, the Miskolc Court of First Instance sentenced the accused Sz. S. to life imprisonment and a 10-year ban from public affairs for the crime of manslaughter committed out of a cruel desire for profit, especially for the injury of several people and the injury of a defenseless person. The court is sure that the accused can be released on parole after serving 30 years at the earliest. The prosecution appealed against the verdict in order to exclude the accused from the possibility of parole. The accused appealed for acquittal and mitigation.
According to the facts established by the first court, in April 2011, early in the evening, the man went to the house of the victims he knew from earlier, and told his original family that he had to go to Miskolc for a business meeting.
When he arrived at the property, he rang the doorbell, and the victims let the familiar man into the yard. At that time, the accused allegedly hit both elderly victims on the head with a brick and then with his bare hands, with great force, and then hit and kicked the victims who fell to the ground with their hands all over their bodies. he dragged this helpless man into the woodshed, while his wife into the opposite shed and tied their limbs together with plastic string.
After that, the accused searched the rooms of the house, but it was not possible to establish whether he had stolen anything from there. After completing the search, he locked the apartment door and left the scene.
The victims, left alone, lost their lives as a result of the abuse, shortly after it happened. Their bodies were discovered two days later by a neighbor. The accused traveled abroad the day after the crime and returned to Hungary only the day after the bodies were found.
