Toulouse: a 16-year-old minor arrested for having attempted to rape a young woman in a building in the city center
The departmental security police arrested on Saturday a 16-year-old minor suspected of having committed an attempted rape two days earlier in a building in Compans-Caffarelli in Toulouse.
He acted like a predator in the night. Last Thursday, a 20-year-old young woman was violently attacked as she returned to her home in the Compans-Caffarelli district in the heart of Toulouse. Shortly before 11 p.m., the latter was followed in the street by an unknown person from the nearby line B metro station.
Her attacker managed to get behind her in the lobby of her building and attacked while she was waiting for the elevator. Violently, he struck her in the head and in the face. He then touched his victim’s chest, asking for the unlock code for his stolen smartphone and other personal effects.
In a state of shock
When she found herself on the ground, the aggressor lowered her pants and her underwear to continue the sexual violence. He stopped when witnesses arrived who put him to flight and called the police. In shock, the victim was taken care of by firefighters and taken to hospital to be seen by a medical examiner. She suffered in particular from bruises on her face and was prescribed five total interruptions of work.
From then on, the police officers of the departmental security in charge of the investigation did everything possible to find this man. They interviewed the victim and the witnesses in order to obtain a description of the suspect. The images from the video surveillance cameras were peeled. The attacker was quickly identified. This 16-year-old boy, already disadvantaged and known to the courts, was arrested this Saturday at his home and placed in police custody.
At the end, he was presented to the prosecution on Monday for an indictment for “attempted rape and extortion”. His detention was requested.
