Switzerland has arrived in Debrecen – with photos and video
On Monday afternoon, the “Swiss Pavilion” opened in the Batthyány Street building of the German Cultural Forum. The embassy has created an interactive wall here, where you can get to know the democratic system of the Alpine country, the famous Swiss humanitarian traditions and the activities of companies producing in our city. As part of the series of programs, a business forum and numerous cultural and musical events are also organized in Debrecen.
Artists from the Montreux Alpine Horn Academy played their pine instruments at the opening. The almost 3 and a half meter long traditional horns are an integral part of Swiss musical culture. The week-long series of programs, which presents the cultural, economic and political life of the Alpine country, began with the opening of the Swiss Pavilion. He held the Swiss Days outside of Budapest for the first time.

– On Wednesday, the focus will be on bilateral economic relations. In the morning, representatives of Swiss and Hungarian companies will take part in a business forum, and in the evening, in the framework of a gala dinner, we will bring actors from the political, social and cultural life of the two countries closer to the Swiss representation, said Swiss Ambassador Jean-Francois Paroz.
In his speech, László Papp, referring to the historical roots of the relations between the two countries, noted that Debrecen is also referred to as the Hungarian Geneva due to the Reformation. The mayor also emphasized economic cooperation, an important part of which will be the already mentioned Swiss-Hungarian business meeting, where the business opportunities of the region will be discussed.
– The Swiss economy and Swiss culture can show many good examples. In the coming days, as part of the ALL-IN program, we will have the opportunity to get a little insight into everyday life in Switzerland

The program will include, for example, a film screening, a Swiss quiz and a playful treasure hunt. The thematic week ends on Sunday with a Swiss picnic.
