Schjelderup (18) top scorer in the Danish Superliga – praised after goal show
The double means that 18-year-old Schjelderup tops the top scorer list in the super league after eleven rounds of the series with seven complete hits.
– There are many good teams in this league. We see that. many teams are even and everyone can win every match. It’s about performing, said a humble Schjelderup to Viaplay after the match.
Nordsjælland, which is the new series leader with Monday’s three points, got off to a flying start in the match. The Ghanaian Ernest Nuamah scored the second fastest goal in Super League history when he sent the home team into the lead after just 13 seconds.
Then it was Schjelderup’s turn. After several good moves, he hammered the ball into the far corner to make it 2-0 after only one play.
Great shape
The Norwegian scored his second goal of the evening with 14 minutes remaining. Two Randers defenders were dribbled away before the 18-year-old swung the ball in at the far post.
– It was as I did when I dreamed it last night. That was exactly how I envisioned it. It was good to see it go in the box, said Schjelderup.
The youngster is in great form and scores to order for Nordsjælland during the day. On Monday, he was replaced with nine minutes left to play.
After the match, the youngster was showered with praise in the Danish media.
“The young Norwegian was definitely world class in the top match between FCN and Randers and crowned his efforts with two scores”, writes Extra Magazine.
“Andreas Schjelderup was a constant threat throughout the match and was too much of a mouthful for the Randers defence”, it continues.
“Schjelderup excelled”, writes ball.dk.
Came from Bodø/Glimt
Randers got a patch on the wound with a reduction on the eve of the match.
The FC Copenhagen duo Pep Biel and Viktor Claesson, as well as AGF’s Patrick Mortensen, closely follow Schjelderup on the top scorer list. They have all scored six goals so far this season.
Schjelderup has a past in Bodø/Glimt. He was brought to Nordsjælland in July 2020. He made his debut for the Danish club’s first team in the 0-2 defeat for OB in February 2021. He was then 16 years and 248 days old.
