The Munich marathon leads over a large circuit through the beautiful state capital of Bavaria.
Munich marathon: Start
The starting signal for the marathon is in Olympic Stadium at Coubertinplatz.

The Olympic Park and the Olympic Stadium
Of course we start with the Olympic Park and the Olympic Stadium, which is a real trademark of the Munich Marathon. Built for the 1972 Olympic Games, the tent roof is now one of Munich’s landmarks. Through the construction, the various arenas and competition halls were combined into one big whole, and the Olympic Games were born under one roof. At the Munich marathon, the start in the stadium promises goosebumps and the finish through the marathon gate is for all competitions legendary!
The Olympic Park is worth a visit for its wonderful view alone. But the Olympic Park can also score with the green park, winding paths and top running routes. On the well-known “Olyberg”, as the Olympiaberg is also affectionately called, you can turn the page to see the sunset over the old town as well as the view of the Bavarian Alps. Or you can use the climb for intensive sprints, interval training or step jumps to increase your performance.
The other highlights of the route
