Ostracized in the United States since #MeToo, the four-time Oscar-winning New Yorker has continued to find a relatively loyal audience in recent years in Europe and especially in France. But his last film, “Rifkin’s Party”filmed in Spain, in San Sebastián, notably with Louis Garrel, gathered only 89,000 spectators there when it was released in July.
