Hladík, a member of the Brno People’s Party, will be the Minister of the Environment. He will replace the sick Hubáčková | Politics | News | Brno Gossip
Petr Hladík, a native of Brno, will become the new Ministry of the Environment. The current first deputy mayor heard the call of Deputy Prime Minister Marián Jurečka and the current ministry Anna Hubáčková, which concerns health problems. The politician from Brno had the opportunity to become a minister last year. Due to his family and guilt, he did not accept the offer to become mayor of Brno.
A change in the position of the Minister of the Environment necessarily requires people’s circumstances. The current head of the resort, Anna Hubáčková, has submitted her resignation due to health problems. “Unfortunately, I have to undergo a medical procedure with several months of recovery. This will limit my ability to travel, which is very problematic during the Presidency of the EU Council” she explained her decision Anna Húbáčkováwhich recommended the position of the second highest-ranking politician from Brno Peter Smoother. The policy from the Moravian metropolis was subsequently approved by the KDU-ČSL national committee.
“I’m sorry, but I understand the situation and I ask that both journalists and the public respect her privacy. I wish her a speedy recovery and would also like to thank her as she has done a really good job over the past few months“, Deputy Prime Minister Hubáčková justified her departure Marian Jurečka (KDU-ČSL).
An ambitious politician from Brno
The 38-year-old native of Osová Bítýška made his mark in the public consciousness in 2014, when the elections in the Brno-sever district were invalidated due to alleged vote-buying. At that time, the Regional Court found Hladík to be right, and the Constitutional Court eventually swept the proposal off the table. But the politician drew a lot of attention to himself and soon won a position at the Brno municipality. In 2016, he replaced Klára Liptáková as deputy mayor, and two years later he became the first deputy mayor. In his position, he mainly devoted himself to the environment, which has now brought him a plus body.
“I realize the urgency of the whole situation. Now, when the whole of Europe is going through a transformation of the energy sector and, moreover, when the Czech Republic presides over the Council of the European Union, it is important that the departure of the minister does not jeopardize the functioning of the ministry. It’s not about me, it’s about the people and the Czech Republic. Rejecting Minister Hubáčková and Deputy Prime Minister Jurečka now would border on arrogance and, above all, it would be irresponsible,” Hladík confided on Facebook.
The Brno clique already nodded for the second time
Hladík was offered to run the resort a year ago. But then he rejected the possibility, saying that he has five children and a wife. In addition, the former chairman of the Young People’s Party, who studied computer science at the Masaryk University, aspired to become the mayor of Brno. But the People’s Party in conjunction with Starosty ended up third. In addition, Hladík has had disputes with Mayor Markéta Vaňková (ODS) in recent months, which is why it is possible that the People’s Party won’t even sit down in the new coalition.
“It is clear to me that many people will say that I did not succeed in Brno, so I am going to Prague. I totally get it, I would probably look at it quite similarly. But frankly, it would be easier to stay in Brno, which I love and spend more time with my family, and either continue to lead Brno on the projects I have in progress or leave the opposition and return to the business environment,” added Hladík, who will become the next politician from Brno in the government. In addition to Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS), the Ministry of Justice Pavel Blažek (ODS) and the head of the health department Vlastimil Válek (TOP 09) also come from the Moravian city. However, the Minister for European Affairs Mikuláš Bek (née) also has strong ties to Brno, who has been in charge of Masaryk University since 2004.
