“half Debrecen” will support Luca Kozák
Luca Kozák, the DSI Debrecen athlete, did not reach his goal in three world competitions – the 2019 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow, the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Indoor World Championships in Belgrade. All three times he was hampered by injury or bad luck. After that, the 26-year-old athlete from Debrecen became the silver medalist of the European Championship in Munich, after that, out of the stream of disappointments, and in addition, by improving the peak with a time of 12.69 seconds in the semi-finals, which he repeated in the final with almost the same performance, reports the SzPress News Service, which is what the sport was talking about. about his experiences.
– I’m not an athlete who dwells on bad events for a long time, I don’t look back, but I try to brace myself for the tasks in front of me. That is why I rather held on to the fact that after the three disappointments, only something very beautiful and good could follow. And so it happened. 2022 finally became the year of records, a breath-taking phase of my career, which not only reassured me, but also strengthened the relationship with László Suba, my coach, who, as strange as it may sound, has been by my side as a decisive player for almost half of my life – said the athlete, who is well has a chance to regain the “throne” and become the “Athlete of the Year” again this year.
The European Championship in Munich was accompanied by a group of twelve members recruited from his family members and friends, whose enthusiastic members can now consider themselves part of the success.
– My “team” for next year is already being organized, and it seems that “half of Debrecen” will cheer me on from the stands. And it will be appropriate to serve this with a good ranking. At this year’s World Championships in Eugene, the medalists ran amazingly good times, the winner Tobi Amusan from Nigeria created the impression of a kind of “athletic extraterrestrial” in the finals with his 12.06 seconds in the tailwind, but even the time of the third place was 12.23 seconds. I’m not sure that after a year, another such final can be held in the new stadium in Budapest, but the more important question is whether it will be possible to carve out more centuries from the individual, because only that can lead to success – continued Luca Kozák, who not only on the dam, but also able to achieve good times in flat running.
