Zurich Airport registered exactly 20,355 flight movements in September. Compared to September 2021, this means an increase of almost a third, as an analysis by the AWP news agency shows. Compared to the previous month, the holiday month of August, the number of flights fell by around 3%.

The flight movement figures at Zurich Airport are based on statistics updated daily, in which the airport lists all flights that were operated under instrument flight rules. This so-called IFR traffic also includes freight, business and private flights in addition to scheduled flights. The number of flight movements also says nothing about the size of the aircraft handled or their utilization.
Zurich Airport will publish detailed passenger and traffic figures for September on 12 October.
