Andreas Schjelderup top scorer in Denmark
– It was a really nice match. Randers led the league. We knew that if we beat them, we would be top of the table. The battle plan worked perfectly, says Schjelderup to TV 2.
The 18-year-old was the big player in the 3-1 victory in the top game against Randers.
Schjelderup’s goal sent Nordsjælland up to first place in the Super League.
Afterwards, the teenager is praised in the Danish media. The big newspaper Extra Magazine writes that the jewel “once again showed why he is the Superligaen’s biggest sales object”.
“The young Norwegian was absolutely world-class in the top match between FCN and Randers”, writes the newspaper.
The tone is the same at Danish TV 2.
“He was the match’s most dangerous player, and with great goals and exemplary edge play, he damaged the rating against Randers”, writes the channel.
With seven goals in eleven games, he is the top scorer in the Super League.
Dreamed of super goals
The newspaper BT calls Monday’s goal double “excellent”. Special scores that went 3-0 were of the beautiful kind.
– It was like what I dreamed about last night. It was exactly as I envisioned it. It was nice to see it finish, says the 18-year-old to Viaplay.

– Was really mad
Although the goal was exactly as he envisioned, it did not apply to a situation sent into the game.
– It was nice for me to score some goals, but annoying that I didn’t get a hat trick. I would have scored just before I was replaced if Ernest (Nuamah) had not blocked the ball and was offside. I just started laughing, but I was really pissed off. It was crazy. It had topped the whole match, says Schjelderup to TV 2.
The Nordsjælland jewel seemed to stop easily when he was replaced. The coach hoped it was just an overload.
The penitentiary denies that he was in trouble.
– I was not injured when I was replaced. I was just completely done and needed a break, says Schjelderup, who has been firing on all cylinders so far this season:
– I have taken many steps. I perform much more consistently now: not just in one match here and one there, but in all the matches. I have become much more stable in my performances and further developed the striker’s skills in scoring goals and being decisive.
Wrecked big clubs
Schjelderup, who was brought in from Bodø/Glimt as a 16-year-old, has a contract with Nordsjælland until the summer of 2024.
When he chose the Danish club, he had visited giants such as Ajax, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
– It was very tempting with clubs from Italy, England and Spain. I’m a Liverpool fan myself, but I didn’t want to be one of the crowd. It is further up to the A-team at the club, the super talent has told TV 2 earlier.
Schjelderup has been compared several times to Mikkel Damsgaard (22), who was sold from Nordsjælland to Sampdoria. Afterwards, Damsgaard impressed in the EC before he was sold to Brentford after a long injury break.
Grealish comparison
The soccer website Goal has compared Schjelderup’s playing style to that of Manchester City star Jack Grealish.
Schjelderup has two games for the U21 national team.
In 2022, however, he has only played for the G18 and G19 national team.
