The Ministry of Agrarian Policy stated that Ukraine is no longer a raw material economy, but a food economy
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy believes that Ukraine has moved from a raw material economy model to a food economy model. until the war, the export of dairy products and meat production, the sphere of alternative energy sources (bioethanol, biogas, biomethane), as well as the processing of grain crops, are actively developing in Ukraine. About this reported at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy with reference to First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotskyi.
“The force majeure factor of the war accelerated our transformation. Looking at the results of the agricultural sector during the 7 months of the war, we see that already the point of no return to the raw model has been passed. What does this confirm? First of all, everyone understood – agricultural producers, farmers concentrating on one or two grain oil crops is very risky. And there should definitely be differentiation,” he said now.
According to him, the export of dairy products is growing. According to the results of August, the export of dairy products showed a record figure for the last two years. Similar growth is expected and provided.
In addition, livestock of industrial pig farming and poultry farming will be added, added Taras Vysotskyi. This is explained in advance by the cheapening of fodder, and the trend of development of animal husbandry continues in the future.
Another direction is deeper processing of grain crops: production of flour, ready-made pasta, amino acids, etc. Such projects have also already been started, but the result should be expected in two or three years.
Former President Volodymyr Zelenskyi denied the Russian Federation’s statement that Ukrainian grain, which is exported by sea from Black Sea ports, arrives only in the European Union. Such statements, in particular, were made by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov.
