Russians at the border: Two-hour queue to enter Norway
This weekend, a total of 295 people have entered Norway from Russia via Storskog in Finnmark. A total of 174 have traveled to Russia, the police say.
After several thousand Russians have left the country in the wake of Vladimir Putin’s mobilization for war, rumors have swirled that Russia would ban emigration for men of mobilization age.
But even though traffic to Norway has plummeted since Wednesday, there is little to indicate that Russians with valid papers are being refused exit.
On Sunday morning, NTB spoke to a young Russian man who had crossed the border with his family. He said that there is a long queue on the Russian side, and estimated that they had waited just over two hours in line to get past the checkpoints on the Russian side of the border.
