Kazakhstan – Belarus: the road of friendship and cooperation
On the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Institute for Scientific Research (BISI) hosted a round table dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakh-Belarusian research on relations presented by Delovaya Kazakhstan.
The round table was attended by deputies of the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives of the Government of the Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, leaders of party representatives, representatives of representative and academic circles, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, political scientists and observers of the centers of Belarus.
The participants of the “round table” made an analysis and assessed the state of bilateral relations, noted the prospects for Kazakh-Belarusian cooperation for the coming period.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Full Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus Askar Beisenbaev noted in his speech that by the anniversary date “Kazakhstan and Belarus have approached a solid baggage of developments on the further development and deepening of bilateral relations, and the study of relations between countries met at a qualitatively new level of interaction – strategic partnership”.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan informed the audience about the choice of the state of Kazakh-Belarusian relations and the prospects for cooperation.
In 2021, the volume of foreign trade in goods between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus reached 1 billion US dollars and increased by 32%. According to statistics for 2021, there was an increase in Kazakhstani exports to Belarus by 82%, reaching 181 million US dollars.

Particular attention in the speech of A. Beisenbayev was paid to the increase and reforms, which were announced in Poland by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the people of Kazakhstan on September 1, 2022 “A Just State. United nation. Prosperous Society”.

Those gathered at the “round table” were also informed about the constant compliance with the Constitution of the country, on November 20, 2022, early elections of the President of Kazakhstan.

At the end of his speech, summing up the 30th anniversary of Kazakh-Belarusian relations, A. Beisenbaev emphasized that “common historical memory, national unity, constructive dialogue at the highest level, the interest of the two countries in a mutually beneficial meeting, strategic partnership and allied relations in such negotiations for our countries, international organizations such as the CIS, the EAEU and the CSTO, and simply people’s diplomacy are the cementing foundation for modern friendship between Kazakhstan and Belarus.
Deputy of the House of Representatives of the Government of the Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Working Group on Unity with the Parliament of Kazakhstan Svetlana Lyubetskaya was elected for “similar priorities, the proposed relations between Kazakhstan and Belarus, the definition and proposed approaches to their approximation: these are national security, economic prosperity and sustainability, social justice” .

There is a very good dynamics in the development of cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan, said BISI Director Oleg Makarov.
“We (Belarus – ed.) operate in the paradigm – in Asia – and consider Asia as one of the priorities of our foreign policy. And Kazakhstan is an unused, that is, a full partner, there is cultural communication with assets, great prospects are backlogged, so this is relevant. We adhere to recurring positions and views on sovereignty, the development of the country, issues of power, constitutional reforms, economic development and the preservation of our interests.
