Regional supremacy at stake
The TFC faces Montpellier on the 9th day of Ligue 1. A difficult confrontation because the Toulousains are not in great confidence: they have four defeats in the last five games. And the only victory of this series, against Reims at home, was sluggish.
For its part, Montpellier is having a good start to the season. The balance sheet of the MHSC is balanced: four victories for four defeats including two against PSG and Lille. Coach Olivier Dall’Oglio has also silenced the critics after a complicated preparation. He regained the confidence of his leaders and supporters after the club’s biggest victory in Brest (0-7) at the end of August.
Among the Héraultais, the Swiss international goalkeeper, Jonas Omlin, injured in the adductors, is unavailable to play Sunday in Toulouse. He should be replaced by Bingourou Kamara, who arrived from Strasbourg at the end of August. The young central defender, Maxime Estève, hit in the back is forfeited. He will give way to Nicolas Cozza or Mamadou Sakho. Finally, the English striker Stephy Mavididi is restored. Victim of a torn thigh contracted at the start of the season against Troyes, he resumed collective training and is operational.
At league 1 standings, the MHSC is 9th with 12 points and the TFC 12th with 8 points. Kick off for this Occitanie derby this Sunday, October 2 at 3 p.m.
