A real mascot in Isbergues
Born in 1917, she had taken over her father’s café in the 1950s. Since then, she had not wanted to leave it and opened every day between quarter past eight and half past eight. His cafe had no name, just a sign facilitated by a brand of beer. “When you serve good beer, that’s enough, no name needed”, we entrust the centenary on the occasion of its 100 years. She had become the mascot of Isbergues, a small town of 9,000 inhabitants in Pas-de-Calais.
The inhabitants of Isbergues today salute a “brave lady“, “a very beautiful person” and “a great local figure“.
