Funds to boost industry in South Luxembourg, through the Remalux project
As a reminder, the objective set by Remalux is to start from the needs of industries, to develop or redevelop their anchoring in the territory by collaborating in all directions, including with the Grand Duchy, to make the territory of the province of Luxemburg.
Started in 2016
A first phase of coordination was carried out in 2016 for the redeployment of industry in the south of the province of Luxembourg, affected in particular by restructuring.
Backed by broad consultation with industrial companies in the area, Idelux identified the priority needs to carry out this mission.
Among the targeted actions are the launch of three ecosystems in the wood, agri-food and logistics sectors; strengthening coordination with training and education operators to meet human capital needs in industry; or raising awareness and support for innovation through the Made Different program (Industry of the Future).
In order to cover the costs and costs specific to Idelux’s initiatives in this area, the Minister of the Economy, Willy Borsus, granted a grant of €240,000 in favor of the economic and industrial redeployment of the south of the province of Luxembourg for the years 2022-2023.
A grant of €240,000 which is added to the €234,000
This amount is a continuation of the grant of €234,000 which had already been granted as part of the 2020-2021 program and which also contributes to the orientations of the program, in particular through the Steering Committee, bringing together Idelux, the SPW and Minister Willy Borsus.
Growth potential
“The Remalux project makes sense as it is necessary to support our Walloon industries in their redeployment and in their transition. There is also a very great potential for growth to be exploited in many sectors in the province of Luxembourg. This is the reason why the Walloon Government has continued to support this initiative since 2018”“, emphasizes Willy Borsus.
