Debrecen is the fourth most livable city in Hungary

The deputy mayor emphasized that he is proud that the city of Cívis reached fourth place on the national list this year.

Based on this, the most livable districts of Hungary are located in the northwest and southeast, and Budapest and its surroundings and most of the county seats stand out. At the top of the list are Pilisvörösvár and its surroundings, as well as Veszprém and its surroundings, followed by Budapest. Close to the 100 points of the capital, the district of Pilisvörösvár scored 61.8, and the district of Veszprém scored 58 points.
Also in the top ten are Debrecen and its surroundings – which came fourth with 57.6 points – the Bóly district is fifth with 57.4 points, and Tata and its surroundings, which is tenth with 53.2 points.
The district of Mórahalmi is sixth with 54.2 points, Érdi is seventh with 53.8 points, Kisbéri is the same current eighth, Pécsváradi is ninth with 53.7 points on the list, on which, for example, Mór and its surroundings, which were third last year, are in 25th place this year slipped back.
In terms of sub-indicators, Budapest, Veszprém and its surroundings and the Győr district are in the lead, but four new districts, Orosházi, Debreceni, Kiskunhalasi and Kapuvári, also entered the top ten. In the field of culture, Budapest also ranks first, ahead of the districts of Debrecen and Eger. The health index is the best in Szekszárd, then in Pécs and Veszprém, and the safest in Debrecen, Veszprém and Zalaegerszeg.

The experts also compiled a possible livability ranking of the county seats, which was properly prepared and led by the capital. The lag behind the cities following Budapest is also significant in terms of relevant aspects. Veszprém came second with 78.9 points, Győr third with 68.9 points.
Debrecen, which ranked fourth with 60.4 points, was still 12th on the list last year.
The top ten also includes Székesfehérvár (60.3 points), Szekszárd (59.9), Pécs (58.9), Szombathely (58.4), Zalaegerszeg (57.2) and Kaposvár (55.3). At the end of the line are Kecskemét, Salgótarján and Békéscsaba, less than half as many as Budapest: with 42.1, 41.6 and 39.2 points.
