Bulgaria finished with their rout over Kazakhstan at the 2022 World Cup
The volleyball players from the national team of Bulgaria ended with a huge victory with their participation in the World Championship in the Netherlands and Poland. Lorenzo Micelli’s girls took Kazakhstan s 3:0 (25:18, 25:22, 25:18) in their last Group C match of the tournament, play this next one at the Atlas Arena in ΕΓ³dΕΊ.
The meeting was only about honesty and dignity, after yesterday the “lionesses” lost to Canada with 1:3 the game and thus lost any chances of moving forward in the second phase of the World Cup 2022. Thus Bulgaria finishes in 5th place in the group with 1 win, 4 losses and 4 points, and will most likely be in 17th position in the final standings, which is the worst performance of the championship on the planet.
Kazakhstan also remain in the last 6th place in Group C without a win and without a point or a game won and will finish one last of 4 positions in the final standings of the championship.
At the beginning of the first match, Bulgaria quickly took a 3:0 lead after two excellent performances by Elitsa Atanasiyevich and a mistake by the Kazakhs. However, Kazakhstan managed to equalize at 5:5 after the services of Tatyana Nikitina. The “Lionesses” again pulled ahead at 10:6 after successful attacks against Miroslava Paskova and Atanasijevic, a dropped ball by the distributor Lora Kitipova and a block by Mira Todorova. Despite the time-out for the coach of Kazakhstan Darko Dobreshkov, the difference grew to 15:7 after counterattacks by Atanasiyevich and Nasya Dimitrova, a new launch by Kitipova and as by Mira Todorova. The two teams continue evenly and Bulgaria maintains its advantage until 21:13 after a new attack from the foot of Mira Todorova, then calmly wins the game with a crushing 25:18 after a block-out by Atanasijevic.
The second part started completely evenly until 10:10, after which Bulgaria managed to take the lead with 12:10 after a foot attack and a block by Nasya Dimitrova. The difference slightly increased to 14:11 after Nasya Dimitrova’s ace, after which the game continued point for point until 17:14. Kazakhstan returned two points in 17:16 after Natalia Smirnova’s attack and Ekaterina Mihailova’s block, which in turn made Lorenzo Micelli look for a timeout. Kazakhstan even equalized at 19:19 after a counter by Ekaterina Mihailova. A successful attack and counter by Radostina Marinova followed and 21:19 for Bulgaria. The score became 23:20 after Marinova’s ace, after which the Bulgarian “lionesses” closed the game in their favor at 25:22 after another successful attack from Marinova’s second line.
After the equal beginning of the third game, Bulgaria pulled away with 6:3 after strong performances in the attacks of Miroslava Paskova and Radostina Marinova at the service of Elitsa Atanasijevic. The difference became 8:4 after a counter by Mira Todorova. The lead of the Bulgarian girls increased to 16:11 after a successful attack from the foot of Nasya Dimitrova and a mistake by the Kazakhs. Bulgaria maintained its advantage until 23:16 after a series of strong services from Miroslava Paskova, then calmly won the game with 25:18 after a strong attack from Elitsa Atanasijevic, and with that the match with 3:0.
The most useful for Bulgaria is the captain Elitsa Atanasijevic with 15 points (1 ace, 52% attack success rate and 19% perfect reception) for the victory. Nasya Dimitrova (2 blocks, 1 ace) scored 11 points, and Miroslava Paskova and Radostina Marinova (1 block, 1 ace) each added another 10 points for success.
For the Kazakhstan team, Tatiana Nikitina also finished with 15 points (2 blocks and 34% attack success), and Kristina Belova had 11 points.
