BIME Bilbao celebrates its tenth anniversary with the best of the Ibero-American music industry
After passing through Bogotá, like every Spanish autumn and for a decade, BIME broke Bilbao into the epicenter of music, innovation and international business from October 26 to 29. BIME seeks, through the sum, exchange, dialogue, from the local and the universal, the answers to the challenges facing the music industry, while offering citizens an extensive program of music in I live bringing the latest musical trends from all over the world.
The meeting has been positioned as a unmissable event on the international cultural and economic agendaand consists of a complete and diverse program divided into two large areas: BIME PRO, the congress aimed at the professional public, with 3 intensive days of networkspresentations, master classes and workshops that will take place in the Euskalduna Palace from Wednesday to Friday; Y BIME LIVEthe program that will fill the halls and outdoor stages throughout the city with live music, open to the general public, until Saturday night.
10 years in the music industry
This will be an exceptional edition as it celebrates 10 years since its birth and the confirmation of this space as the reference meeting of the international music industry. The bridge between Europe and America is consolidated and made clear with the participation of large delegations from Portugal, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Peru or the Dominican Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Finland and Austria among others.

The event expects to bring together more than 4,500 professionals, representing around 1,500 companies from more than 50 countries that are part of this expanding industry. BIME will also host large parallel meetings such as the European Music Export Exchangewhich will bring to Bilbao more than 20 experts in the internationalization of music from different parts of the continent, or the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the European Association of Concert Halls WFD LIVE that would congregate the most important venues in Europe. Continuity will also be given to the training program for internationalization i-connectionslaunched in BIME Bogotá, together with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain and co-financed with Next Generation EU Funds. Commitment to equality and sustainability
BIME continues to reinforce its commitment to achieve a more egalitarian and inclusive industry and does so through MUSICAL EQUALITY FORUM, programming aimed at discussing, giving visibility and seeking solutions. Among the collaborating associations stand out MIM, Keychange, SHESAID.SO, Femnoise, Ruidosa, MUSAP, Discoveras and join new ones like WIM Colombia and MIM LATAM, Mewem. In the program we will meet groups such as Orfigyal – Karne Kultura whose ideological commitment is to make the night a safe space.
In addition, a call will be made in collaboration Sonorous Land Legacy whose objective is to preserve the sounds of the earth and support pioneering scientific projects on the environment through sound and music. #SELChallenge It is conceived as a contest for musical producers who, having exclusive access to the unique sounds of the organization, must compose a musical soundscape that invites relaxation. Three finalists will be selected to present their work at BIME as part of a new space chill out that SEL will premiere at the congress called “Sound Shelter”.

Awards at BIME
Two important awards ceremonies will take place this week in Bilbao in the context of BIME: those already recognized AWARDS FESTIVALthat this year they also celebrate their 9th edition and will take place on the day October 26 at Azkuna Zentroa. This year it launches a new category “Award for the best Ibero-American festival”, another reflection of the strong ties that have been established between continents.
The BIME HERITAGE PREMIUMS are born from the hand of amazon music to give visibility and recognize female and LGTBIQ+ talent. In this first edition, which will be held on October 27 in La RiberaPeople who stand out for their career and future projection, as well as for their social commitment, will be awarded in the categories of live and recorded music, artist development, new talent, inspirational Keychange and festivals.

In this tenth edition BIME LIVE will bring live music to the heart of Bilbao, flooding the city with music for 4 days, from Wednesday 26 to Saturday 29 October. The best concerts will tour the main venues and open-air stages, with a free access program, where they will discover the talents of the future and the most avant-garde proposals of the moment.
A total of 65 concerts by the hand of artists from Germany, Cuba, France, Colombia, Austria, Chile, the Netherlands, Argentina, Poland, Portugal and Spain, where you can enjoy a great diversity of musical styles including flamenco, pop, rap, trap, reggaeton , indie, reggae, alternative, R&B, folklore, hardcore, hyperpop and electronica. This programming will be completed with music documentary screenings.
BIME LIVE In this way, it seeks to bring its programming closer to both the professional public that meets at the music congress and the final public of Bilbao, democratizing access to culture and becoming a celebration of music that is committed to new artistic talent, placing itself at the center same from the city.
