Audomarois – An exhibition on the Nord-Pas-de-Calais roundup currently at La Coupole
“Broken lives, saved lives” is the name of the new exhibition presented by La Coupole.
It tells the terrible story of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais roundup which took place on September 11, 1942. It allows you to discover the lives of these 600 Jews rounded up during the Second World War. Nearly fifty people will manage to get out of it and escape death. The portraits of these men and women are therefore available at La Coupole. 80 years after this terrible event, the establishment of Helfaut wanted to highlight this little-known story through a temporary exhibition.
Laurent Sellier, Professor of History at La Coupole.
And if this tragedy is little known, the objective is to make it known, especially to the new generation. Schools wishing to do so can visit it with their students.
Emmanuelle Bacquet, History and Geography teacher in high school.
The exhibition is available until June 2023.
