Asiago Vipers: in Verona another success for President Forte’s team

Sugar Mizzy October 1, 2022

Excellent performance of Vipers of Asiago on the track of CUS Veronaexceeded by 4 goals to 2 after an exciting match that gives the momentary third place in the standings to the president’s team Fabio Forte.
To underline the valuable commitment of Younger vipers which took place during all phases of the match, even scoring two of the four Asian goals at the hands of the very young Mattia Vellarclass 2006, at the first (and probably ‘expensive’) double in Serie A.

“We knew it was going to be difficult but I’m really happy with my boys – said the coach Luca Rigoni at the end of the match against the Scala family – everyone is indispensable in this team, the first as well as the third line. Surely we must learn to be more relaxed especially with a good team like CUS. It is the first time that, this season, we have played on such a large pitch without stilmat, so for what concerns me above all we have done a good job. Everyone, from the oldest to the youngest“.

The match report

The Vipers start strong, and already at the 4th minute Spiller makes himself dangerous by hitting the crossbar in full. Shortly after Captain Frigo plays on the bank to trigger Velar, good at slipping on the left and coolly overcoming the Verona goalkeeper. Two minutes pass and Belcastro loses an insidious puck towards his own area, Carrer steals it from him and draws. Immediate reaction of the Asians who, in superiority, owes the new advantage thanks to a rebound exploited by Tessari.
Race in control, but Perini from the right finds the daring 2-2 comp the involuntary deviation of Munari. All to be redone. And then the line of the youngest still thinks about changing the rhythm of the match, still with a number of Velar that knocks out the opposing goalkeeper Before the interval, a thrill for Facchinetti on an opponent’s shot, and shortly after another sensational pole, this time by Rossetto.

Definitely less beautiful second half, thanks to a growing nervousness on the track. One empty power-play on each side; then it is Lievore to fully believe in a personal initiative by inserting the goalkeeper with a touch of his own. Shortly after another danger for the Vipers, with Facchinetti decisive on a successful shot by the Veronese.
Then the penalties fall, and in a situation of numerical inferiority Belcastro sends Munari in the door who hits the crossbar in full. The Scaligeri try until the end but the three points are all for Asiago.
