Again the case of LA in Lisbon
The real issue that causes the most wear and tear on the democratic regime in Portugal is the stagnation and decline of the country. Indeed, Portuguese society today is more stratified and aged. And it is equally stagnant, socially and geographically.
Our democracy, which has already lasted longer than the previous regime of the Estado Novo, is now faced with three existential problems:
1. Difficulty in creating wealth
2. Breakdown of the social elevator
It is important to say: without letting people and companies prosper in the country, creating opportunities and businesses more money, it is not viable for business to decline Portuguese and make our prosperous converge with the economies of Europe.
And a country with its broken social elevator is itself a broken country.
The possibility of upward social mobility, with more and more Portuguese people, in the suburbs of metropolitan areas or in the desertified interior country and prisoners of their circumstances of origin, without representation in the circuits of influence and power, makes it impossible for the population to carry out projects of your dreams and your happiness individuals.
All this along with a cultural atavism that is increasingly making its way towards institutions and society. In this sense, Portuguese hostility to the just reward of merit and work hampers our collective energies, increasingly entangled in immobility, envy, conformism and mediocrity.
We suffocate in an atmosphere of envy that mobilizes resentment at the success of others. And we demotivate each other in this empire of mediocrity.
It really doesn’t seem to get out of this. The truth is that, in Portugal, a good opportunity is not lost to prevent people from legally earning their money or to kill business or expectations.
In this sense, the politician is a user and time to complicate, asphyxiate and destroy possibilities of development and investment. See, in this regard, the paradigmatic example of local accommodation (AL) and the particular case of Lisbon.
The development of a whole new impact on the world, a bit of globalized promotion at a time sharing economies, requalification of cities and access to millions of travel experiences and family vacations and leisure experiences.
In Portugal, the AL was decisive for thousands and thousands of middle class families to overcome the lead and was fundamental for the development of thousands and thousands of new jobs and businesses, with the impact of the capillary troika and was fundamental for the development of thousands and thousands of new jobs and democratic businesses.
Cities like Porto and Lisbon rebuilt themselves, in part, thanks to this explosion of activity, creativity and entrepreneurship. The old quarters of the historic quarters of Lisbon and Porto were in ruins, abandoned to poverty and decay.
People, unfortunately, socialist politicians hate that as a party card they can make more money and do not tolerate people as they can be freer and change their lives.
Just look at the successive legislative changes, the successive regulatory impulses, increasingly detailed and complex, in this area of economic activity.
The AL constituted a paradigm shift that an urban revolution that would lead to a discovery of Portuguese cities and towns. The global explosion of the sharing economy (in tourism, mobility and services) and the attractiveness of it as a tourist destination, very anchored in LA, played a fundamental role in the way out of the crisis, the growth of new economic opportunities providing many jobs.
But, unfortunately, success is very difficult for socialism to bear, which is increasingly intertwined with the aging and impoverishment of Portuguese society, a useful past of its illusory welfarism.
PS tightened the mesh of 20 of 20 (so it happened, it happened, it happened, it happened, and it was regulated from 2008) Uber Foi, which is going to legal mesh and was regulated from 2008. done for everyone’s profit).
Until, finally, the AL business would suffer, on March 22 of this year, a rude and almost decisive blow with the uniform jurisprudential judgment of the Supreme Court of Justice (STJ), declaring that “in the horizontal property regime, the indication in the constitutive title that a certain fraction is intended for housing, must be interpreted in the sense that it is not allowed to carry out local accommodation”.
In short, owners who were not built to build or begin to build, initially, to build, to build, or to build, i.e. to build, i.e. to build, i.e. to build, i.e. to build i.e. to build, i.e. to build, i.e. to build, or to build, to build, or to build, to build, to build, or to build, to build, or to build, to build, or to build, to build, to build, or to build, or to build, to build, or to build, to build, or to build, or to build, to build, or to build, to build, or to build your favor.
Thus, and almost without less strong in Portugal, the most powerful and weakest entrepreneurs and as the least strong and the strongest and weakest companies. And all this in the name of good (in this case, in the name of the right to peace, obviously, a peace based on general poverty).
In fact, this decision of the STJ, by establishing in its grounds such a narrow undertaking of what constitutes “opens the normal operation of a condominium”, including the way to foresee the undertaking of fractions for students or the leasing of rooms.
This situation has not yet been resolved by the absolute majority of the PS, imposing as permitted solutions that remedy this situation of uncertainty launched by the STJ.
This is precisely at a time when the crisis in student accommodation becomes evident, with the PS government having failed all its promised goals, a crisis that the Left Bloc is now responding to with the possibility of forced requisition of registered fractions for AL, precisely manipulated, still surviving the STJ, which condominium regulations to successive ones.
All this in a time of crisis, the potential inflationary spiral of poverty businesses, in which thousands and thousands of families will have more income, in an economy in retraction and not very friendly.
solve, the policies of the PS almost and of the radical left are always the same: to solve the problems that are destroying businesses and withdrawing private money, forcing them to solve what the destructive State does not solve.
See the illustrative case of Lisbon. The order of law no. And, despite having lost like Lisbon, the PS continues to import, against the will of the mayor, Carlos Moedas, and with the support of the radical left, the strangulation of this activity.
It is that less favorable impacts for the development of the city’s economy are not ignored, such as pressure on housing prices, the increase in clear prices in proximity trade, pressure on public space by activities associated with tourism, with reflexes , or environmental impacts in areas such as daytime and nighttime noise or urban hygiene.
But a substantial part of the left’s talk about gentrification and commercialization in various neighborhoods and areas of the city results mainly from the urban neighborhood of the appreciation of envy, the habituation to stagnation and discomfort with social mobility with geographical expression in previously impoverished and disqualified residential.
All this and a certain glamorization of poverty, an almost totemic exoticization of some communities and undisguised nostalgia for decadence is what today characterizes much of the aforementioned discourse of the left on the gentrification of cities.
In line with the occurrence of the same phenomenon in international cities, at different times, the adaptation of the country to the new economic reality would share the political decision-making of comparison, to also contain the negatives, but it would force that the political decisions would also be reflected. , proportionate and weighted.
But this is simply impossible with a class justice and with a PS immobile in the government of Portugal and that now returns to import in Lisbon, against its president, Carlos Moedas, a project of the AL. People who do not create jobs for Lisbon decide, as they are important, against economic and economic decisions, which are not ideal for choosing Lisbon, once again, the advantages of projecting economic ideas.
The truth is today an international trend, verified in recent years in large cities, of pressure on housing prices and the increase in prices in the proximity trade in their centers is a global trend, which is due to several factors, and not only to the economic activity of LA.
unfortunately, a country designed for an economic activity in see and for the mediocrity in libels accused against its offices, projects, suppliers and workers.
Everything levels off.
