A contraflow driver hits and strangles a policeman in the middle of the street, in Liévin
A 42-year-old man is suspected of having violently assaulted a police officer in Liévin, near Lens (Pas-de-Calais), this Wednesday. He ended up being subdued before being placed in police custody, according to a police source, confirming information from The voice of the North.
A patrol from the specialized field brigade (BST) saw a motorist traveling in the opposite direction around noon, in rue Défernez. The driver was in a bus lane. The police stood at the level of the driver to inform him that he was in violation. The latter, displeased, got out of his car, as did the police.
Plated on the hood and hit
The tone rose and the driver would have stuck his head to that of one of the agents. The man then allegedly pinned him against the hood of his car before knocking him to the ground and strangling him. The official also allegedly received punches. A second police crew was needed to handcuff the attacker.
In police custody, the man denied the charges against him. His company, present in the car, said he saw nothing. For his part, the policeman was awarded four days of total incapacity for work (ITT) in the hospital.
The suspect was to be tried in the context of an immediate comparison this Friday afternoon, in Béthune.
