When a car collided with a tram in Prague, 2 women were injured, the driver of the car was drugged

Prague – Two women were injured in a collision between a car and a tram on Vinohradská street in Prague this evening. The driver of the car was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. This follows from the information of the emergency medical service and the police. The car ended up on the roof on the tracks near the Vinohradské hřbitovy public transport stop. The accident blocked several tram and bus lines for more than an hour.
The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. “A serious traffic accident involving a vehicle that ended up on the roof of the tram tracks and was driven by a man under the influence of alcohol and drugs is complicating traffic at the Vinohradské Hřbitov in Prague 10,” the police announced on Twitter.
Jana Poštová, spokeswoman for Prague’s emergency medical service, told ČTK that two women in their 20s were injured in the car. One of them had to be sent out by the firemen from the car. The rescued woman suffered broken arms and legs, as well as contusions to her head and chest. The other woman was also bruised and had a head injury. No one was injured in the tram, in which, according to the fire department, about 50 people were traveling at the time.
The accident stopped the operation of tram lines 16, 19 and 26 and bus lines 188 and 199 for more than an hour. Trams and buses had to run according to website of the Prague transport company along diversion routes.
