Unequivocally against Putin: Slovakia addresses a strong request to Russia!
The Slovak Republic unequivocally condemns the annexation of other parts of Ukrainian territory by the Russian Federation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic led the reaction to the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who on Friday recognized the independence of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, located in the south of Ukraine.
“We are outraged that, despite the calls of the community of most states of the world and the international Russian Federation, it has taken another step that is in direct contradiction to the basic democratic principles and constitutional order of Ukraine,” the department noted.
He points out that As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Russia again grossly violates international law, including the UN Charter. “Special principles of independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs,” added the ministry.
According to him, it is a targeted escalation from the Russian side, which is part of the ongoing military aggression against Ukraine. “Therefore, we once again call on the Russian Federation to end its military activities in Ukraine and to immediately and unconditionally withdraw all its troops, military equipment and the structure of the occupation administration from the territory of Ukraine,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
It added that the Slovak Republic recognizes Ukraine as an independent, sovereign and sovereign state with unquestionable territorial integrity. Slovakia considers all acts connected with the violent secession of Ukrainian territory to be invalid and illegitimate.
