The provisional 2023 MotoGP calendar sets the date of 10 September for the next edition of the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Grand Prix.
It will be the fourteenth round of the twenty-one currently scheduled for next season. It will start from Portimao on March 26, to close in Valencia on November 26, with the expected entry of Kazakhstan on July 9 and today’s news of MotoGP in India, in the stage following the one in Riders’ Land.
The weekend at Misano World Circuit will follow the Barcelona races one week and will be the last in Europe before seven consecutive non-European Grand Prix and the closing in Valencia.
“The dialogue with Dorna has reached the desired result – say the promoters – with the request to postpone the September start date set this year and which we knew was provisional. Thanks to Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sport, for the usual attention given to us.
Then return to the traditional second week of September as wished by the municipalities of the coast, making use of the requests of the tour operators. A date on Sunday 10, more in tune with the desire to extend the tourist season for one of the most important events on the world sporting calendar in a favorable week “.
Already in the 2022 season, in November, the presale will be launched which will reward buyers with important discounts.
“Since 2007 and without interruption – conclude the promoters – with even two appointments in 2020 and 2021, MotoGP has placed the territory in the spotlight of the whole world and has generated a significant economic impact in a strategic portion of the tourist season.
There is ample room for improvement if in recent months all the realities involved with the hospitality industry, with the support of the Administrations and MWC, will be able to work together to develop tourist packages for the event and thus increase the overall economic significance “.
