Roger Waters announces second concert in Portugal – Music
Roger Waters’ concert scheduled for March 17, 2023 at Altice Arena, in Lisbon, as part of the “This Is Not a Drill” tour, is already sold out. In a statement, promoter Ritmos & Blues announced an extra date, on March 18.
According to the promoter, tickets are already on sale and prices vary between 45 euros and 90 euros.
“This Is Not a Drill” is presented as Roger Waters’ 79-year-old “farewell aggression”, and should have had the first in 2020, if the world had not dealt with the pandemic of a new coronavirus. The musician only started with the new show last July, with an extensive tour of North America, which will only end in October in Mexico.
In a press release, the musician explains that the “This Is Not A Drill” tour is “an innovative and cinematic rock and roll extravaganza”, with “dozens of great songs from the golden age of Pink Floyd and also some new songs”.
Without ever forgetting staunch politics, Roger Waters adds: the tour is “an incredible nod to the corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive, and a call to love, protect and share our precious and so precarious planet Earth.”
Roger Waters at Altice Lisboa chose to start the European tour, as happened in 2011, when he presented, in two nights at Altice Arena, in an elaborate visual show, the album “The Wall”, which Pink Floyd edited in 1979.
