Ice hockey: Salzburg continue with a clean slate
In Salzburg, Florian Baltram (2nd) gives the hosts an early lead, Benjamin Nissner (31st) expects to follow suit in the second third. Peter Schneider (59th) finally made the final score with an empty net hit in the 59th minute. However, Salzburg have played one game more than Bozen.
In the duel between Bolzano and Innsbruck there were also two undefeated clubs on the ice. The South Tyroleans took the lead through Brad McClure (10th). Mike Halmo (22nd) doubles up. Two more goals in the middle third brought the decision of the home team early on. Bolzano equaled its starting record from the 2013/14 season with the fourth win in a row.
KAC wins in Graz on penalties
KAC took the lead in the pack derby at Moser Medical Graz 99ers through Rok Ticar (8th) and with Nicholas Petersen’s 2-0 (40th) underlined that after the last six-point weekend they had a lot of self-confidence had hat. The Styrians succeeded in a strong final third through Tobias Fladeby (54th) but the goal, James Livingston (58th) even shot the Grazers into overtime, who remained goalless. In the penalty shootout, however, the KAC prevailed.
Something similar is happening in Vorarlberg. There the home team followed with the Pioneers until shortly before the end against the Steinbach Black Wings Linz with 2:1. Seconds before the end, Stefan Gaffal brought the guests into the – also goalless – extra playing time. Linz then prevailed in the penalty shoot-out, the final score was also 2:3. At least the Pioneers are no longer bottom of the table.
For the spusu Vienna Capitals there was no positive result three days after the first win of the season with a narrow home 2: 3 against Olimpija Ljubljana. Most goals of the round came in Hydro Fehervar’s 5-2 win against new bottom-placed Migross Asiago.
