Higher Education: Portugal reaches the historic number of 433 thousand students enrolled – Expert

This year, 21,222 more enrollments were registered than last year, reaching a total of 433,217 students in Higher Education. Of these, 351,195 are in public higher education and 82,022 are in private higher education. The vast majority of students are enrolled in universities, with more than 274 thousand, while polytechnic education has more than 158 thousand enrolled.
The data of DGEEC also revealed that 75.4% of students were enrolled in initial training study cycles. There are 19,526 in professional higher technical courses, 268,083 in degrees and 38,884 in integrated masters.
