DIJON: Something new for the ring road and the A38 motorway
Work to develop the Ahuy roundabout on the LiNO should begin in January 2023.
Updated: access ramps will be created but the roundabout will be maintained. The president of the Metropolis mentioned the possibility of lowering the speed to 80 km / h.
“If the Metropolis does not claim the management of the ring road and the Lino, I will also request their resumption, because I do not wish the arrival in the long term of an urban toll on this road of Côte-d’Or”, had declared François Sauvadet (LCOP) on June 27 (read our article).
In a session at the Côte-d’Or departmental council, Nathalie Koenders (PS) replied that “the law does not allow it”. A “clarification” awaited by the president of the Department who waved the possibility that a future ecological municipal majority could get their hands on the management of the N274 and introduce an urban toll to access Dijon.
Metropolis and Department reached agreement
In application of the 3Ds law relating to differentiation, decentralization and deconcentration, the Metropolis of Dijon and the Department of Côte-d’Or had until September 30 to agree and transmit to the prefecture their respective wish to reprise.
This Monday, September 26, 2022, ahead of the Dijon municipal council, François Rebsamen (PS, FP) indicated that the communities had reached an agreement, which François Sauvadet confirmed to Dijon Info.
The N274 (composed of the Dijon ring road and the North-West Liaison or LiNO) and the A38 motorway (linking Dijon to Pouilly-en-Auxois) are currently managed by the Interdepartmental Direction of Center-East Roads (DIR). The Métropole de Dijon is therefore a candidate for taking over the N274 while the Department of Côte-d’Or is a candidate for taking over the A38.
Start of the construction of the roundabout of Ahuy in December
In addition, François Rebsamen indicated that the DIR would soon begin work to develop the roundabout of Ahuy, which crusty many drivers. The construction of an exchanger should begin next December for commissioning “in the spring of 2023”.
In December 2021, the steering committee, executed by Fabien Sudry, prefect of the Côte-d’Or, had selected a variant in agreement with the Métropole de Dijon, the Department of the Côte-d’Or, the Bourgogne-Franche Region – County without forgetting the commune of Ahuy.
According to the Regional Directorate for the Environment, Planning and Housing of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (DREAL), it is a question of completing the existing Ahuy interchange, with a north roundabout, and two north- west and southeast.
According to the parties concerned, “the planned development will make it possible to remove the points of conflict for traffic linked to the shearing of flows at the current intersection, and therefore to considerably reduce the effect of saturation at peak times”.
Updated on September 30, 2022:
This Thursday, September 29, 2022, upstream of the metropolitan council, François Rebsamen once again welcomed the fact that the development work on the Ahuy interchange on the N274 could begin in January 2023 for an estimated duration of between three and six month.
The President of the Metropolis confirmed that the roundabout will be maintained in the middle of the N274 even entrance and exit ramps will be made in the direction of Dijon and Ahuy to reduce the flow of vehicles passing through the roundabout.
The overall envelope is allocated to 3.3 million euros. The funders are the State (27.5%), the Region (25%), the Department (25%) and the Metropolis (22.5%).
During the debates of the metropolitan council, François Rebsamen presented his vision for the future of the N274: speed limited to 80 km/h, without truck traffic and with a lane reserved for carpooling.
