The more Ukraine is supported, the sooner the war will end
The international community has to respond to Russia’s escalation by accelerating and increasing military and financial aid to Ukraine, as well as increasing sanctions pressure on the aggressor.
According to the correspondent of Ukrinform, this was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Emine Japarova, during her speech at the meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on Thursday.
“Crimea is a lesson – if aggression is not stopped, it will become even greater. The so-called pseudo-referendums that Russia is holding in Ukraine are another crime and aggression. If it is not stopped, what and who will be next?” – said Dzaparova.
She emphasized that now, more than ever, Ukrainians are sure that they will protect their basic right – the right to life, but the question is “at what cost will we do it.”
Japarova pointed out that Ukraine has a clear formula for achieving peace, which was presented by President Volodymyr Zelensky at the UN General Assembly. Ukraine also made proposals to update architectural security for Ukraine, Europe and the world, which will exclude further aggression.
“At the same time, we must send a clear signal to “potential” aggressors that they must value peace, otherwise the world will hold them accountable. Therefore, a Special Tribunal must be created to punish Russia for crimes of aggression against Ukraine. And an international compensation mechanism must also be created.” “, – said Japarova.
She emphasized that “the time of empty compromises has passed” and “the language of threats and blackmail” cannot be given any chance of success.
“The only reaction to the organized Moscow theatrical resolution with the “referendums” should be to speed up and increase the efficiency and financial aid to Ukraine and at the same time increase the sanctions pressure on the aggressor. The more support we offer now, the sooner this war will end. The sooner this war ends, the we can build a safer and more stable Europe and the planet,” Japarova said.
As it happened, the Russian invaders announced the results of the pseudo-referendums they held during September 23-27 in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. According to them, “support” for joining Russia did not amount to more than 97% of votes.
The international community legality of such staged “manifestation of will“did not admit.
Instead, the Kremlin announced that on Friday, September 30, they intend to sign “agreements” on the so-called “entry” of Ukrainian territories captured by Russian troops into Russia after staged pseudo-referendums.
