The first road trip leads to Salzburg and Vienna
HC Val Pusteria enters the next week of matches of the still ICE Hockey League and faces its first away game. The Wolves concluded the home series at the beginning of the championship with 3 points. None of the three games played so far has been the same as the other: Fehervar presented themselves in great form and deservedly won the points of Brunico. HCP played their best match against VSV and was able to put the Carinthians in a corner. The Black Wings Linz, on the other hand, took advantage of the HCP team and embarked on the victory in the la to return to Upper Austria.
To date, it is difficult to speculate what the position of the HCP will be in 2022/23. The 3 home games are now followed by 3 away games, starting with Pustertal in Salzburg. Red Bull has an immaculate record: with 4 wins out of as many games, Thomas Raffl & Co. greet us from the top of the standings – even Bolzano and Innsbruck are so far unbeaten. An interesting detail from the South Tyrolean point of view: Peter Hochkofler (Red Bull) has scored at least one goal in every game so far – let’s see if he can extend his streak against HCP.
After the – as mentioned at the beginning – rather different performances at the Intercable Arena, one can be curious about the “away mode” of the HCP. There are certainly easier transfers than the one to Salzburg and Vienna, but that’s exactly why the Wolves have to show their teeth. Gianluca March has resumed training and is ready to return to the team, the HCP has no injured players to complain about.
