SLM flight to Schiphol due to fog divert to Brussels
This morning Surinam Airways flight PY 994, from Suriname to the Netherlands, had to divert to Brussels (Belgium). This is due to dense fog at Schiphol.
The regular scheduled service between Paramaribo – Amsterdam vv has been maintained for some time on Wednesdays and Sundays by Airhub Airlines. Flight PY994 departed from Paramaribo for Amsterdam at around 7:15 PM.
Before landing at Schiphol Airport, it appeared that due to weather conditions (dense fog) the further landing procedure could not be initiated and that it was necessary to divert to Brussels Airport in Belgium. p
Passengers on board have both been informed by the captain of the flight, aviation by the Surinam aboard. Surinam Airways wishes to start with that everything has taken place in accordance with flight safety procedures.
The plane later departed from Brussels and landed safely at Schiphol.
It KNMI had plans on Thursday morning for usual, dense fog in almost the entire country, including North Holland. There was a code yellow for locally dense fog in almost the entire country.
