New mobilization of psychologists from Nord and Pas-de-Calais in Lille, the reasons for the anger towards “MonPsy”
This Thursday, September 29, a gathering of psychologists is organized at 12:30 p.m. at the Heart-Lung Institute of the Lille CHR, before the regional interprofessional event at 2:30 p.m. Porte de Paris in Lille.
Sonia Abdelhalim of the Regional Collective CGT psychologists 59 62 and Agathe Sultan, psychologist in the Lille metropolis, help us to understand the reasons for the discomfort.

“The Covid has led to an explosion in consultations and the demand for consultation. The population is suffering and this is particularly true among adolescents and young adults who cause anxiety disorders in particular. The means are not up to the task. Approach MyPsy is interesting but very insufficient. We talked a lot about it in the media and people say to themselves: ‘I will be able to consult a liberal psychologist for free’. But it’s mostly about communication. Few psychologists are indeed registered in the system (1). On the one hand, because psychologists are only reimbursed on the basis of thirty euros, whereas a consultation costs twice as much on average. On the other hand, liberal psychologists as well as within public structures struggle to welcome new patients, as the demand is strong throughout the year: the diaries are full.

“I am against it, it is a smokescreen which aims to hide the drop in health expenditure for the population. In the Lille metropolis, the psychologists who have joined the system can be counted on the fingers of one hand. We denounce MonPsy because it claims to offer free consultations to the population, but the exclusion criteria are numerous: so-called mild to moderate disorders only, no suicidal thoughts, no trauma! interviews, limited to 8 sessions and going through a doctor is obligatory, which is a disguised prescription. We defend direct access to psychologists, but also the freedom to choose his shrink and for the shrink the freedom to choose his methods. As for places of free consultations, where we can have direct access to psychologists, there are some who are well identified by the population, these are the CMPs and we would like to know why it is not to them that we give additional resources!
This Thursday, the Lille demonstration of psychologists will take place, among other things, against MyPsy set up in April 2022.
(1) 16 psychologists are registered in the Pas-de-Calais, or 8% of the 187 liberal psychologists in the department, 26 for the North, or 3% of the 771 liberal psychologists in the department, according to Sonia Abdelhalim
