“Hopefully Piqué will play for Andorra one day”
The club’s sports director believes that “it would help us a lot” although he sees it “very difficult or impossible”
“Every euro we spend is as if it were 1.38”, he said about the measure imposed by LaLiga to reduce its tax benefits
The sports director of Andorra, James Nogues, is proud of the project that he leads from the offices, where he wants to join the club in professional football. I don’t want to talk too much about Primera, although I admit that “there is a dream”. The same as seeing Gerard Piqué with the tricolor elastic.
“There has been no talk, but For me, Gerard is still one of the best central defenders in Europe.. It’s very difficult or impossible… but I wish he would play here, it would help us a lot”, he acknowledged in an interview with ‘As’, where he recorded his beginnings at the club. “I arrived in October 2018. I don’t feel bad saying it: Piqué fingered me. I am a personal friend since childhood. One day he explained the project to me and decided to leave the family business he was in, which has nothing to do with football”. Four years later, the reality is different for Andorra.
“There have been many lucky moments, but there is a lot of planning behind it. It has gone faster than we had planned”, he admitted. The idea is to little by little make the entity more professional. “Now we are in the construction of the new stadium, which it is important to modernize because in Andorra it is cold and we have to adapt it to the new times. And the sports city. The purchase of Nàstic Manresa was to have more focused grassroots football”.
Nogués stuck out his chest for Eder Sarabia, “a great coach”and spoke of the supposed tax advantages: “LaLiga put us a salary limit corrector: every euro we spend is as if it were 1.38according to them to put a little more equality for taxes”.
