The new Hanover at the bottom of the table Minden. What’s going wrong?
Hanover’s handball champions didn’t crash in Minden, but they had to struggle.
“Now the course is being set for a place in the upper table region or for no man’s land. The next two games in Minden and against Hamburg are very important for us, there are four important points at stake,” Prokop made clear before the throw-in.
But: Four days after the annoying defeat against Kiel (27:29) it jerked even with the shortest league journey. Full closure on the Autobahn, mega delay after around 70 kilometers.
The first meeting of trainer Christian Prokop (43) was already on the bus. Then get out, warm up – and off you go. But Minden, who started with five bankruptcies, annoyed the warriors and kept changing the offensive defense system. Hannover only dangerous with speed, in their own defense mentally still on the bus.
35:34! Knights stutter but don’t stumble!
At 7:10 (15th) Prokop had enough – time out. “We’re not ready to defend to the end at the back. We have to bleed to the end, “prompted Prokop, whose words came across.
Hannover (without Pevnov/injured and Vujovic/ill) more attentive from now on – and 17:16 at the break!
But the security and joy of playing, like last Sunday against Kiel, did not come back. The warriors, who couldn’t win any of the last three games in Minden, struggled and fought.
Luckily the back halfs, Renars Uscins and Vlad Kulesh, were on fire! Almost every throw hits!
This helps! Hannover after the break with one or two goals in front – stutters the lead over time.
“We didn’t get along with Minden’s offensive cover,” Renars Uscins then analyzed on “Sky”. “We weren’t there in defense the whole game. That didn’t get us into the pace game. In the second half we were able to save our ass with a quick middle and an efficient attack.”
► Beautiful: Bastian Roscheck made his comeback after a seven-week break.
► crack: Uscins 8, Kulesh 7, Büchner 5, Steinhauser 5, Michaelczik 3, Brozovic 3, Feise 2, Gerbl 1/1, Fischer 1.
