Notte Bianca will return on Saturday 1 October after a two-hearing break, with more than 50 events spread across Valletta with multidisciplinary performances ranging in various art forms, including dance, installations artistic, music and theater. This year’s program of events includes various local and international acts, with names such as Freddie Portelli, ManaTapu, Tribali, Fakawi, Marisa D’Amato and Marty Rivers, Versatile Brass, Klinsmann, The Mel Collective feat. Matthew James and Karin D, and this year’s main stage headliners The Kolors among others.
Since all these events will be happening at the same time, Festivals Malta have organized the shows in different routes so that audiences can easily find events that interest them the most. This year’s routes are the Children’s Route, the Alternative Route, the Classics Route, the Music Route, the Red Route, the Dance Route, and The Theater Route. A map with all routes and events is available here
With the large attendance synonymous with the Notte Bianca, the streets of Valletta will be full of activity throughout the night. In order to alleviate traffic congestion, the general public is highly recommended to use Public Transport, which from October 1st will be free of charge. The Line Card must still be presented upon boarding. Malta Public Transport will also be increasing the frequency of public transport after 11pm, with special bus routes created specifically for Notte Bianca. You can find the special timetable of night routes here
The ferry service from Sliema and Three Cities to and from the City will also be operating with extended hours until 2am.
Those who still want to travel with their personal vehicle should take note that access to Valletta will not be possible after 9:30am on Saturday. The general public can only access Valletta by car via the ringroad. However Transport Malta recommends that those traveling with their own vehicles, make use of the Park and Ride facilities as parking near the City is very limited. The residents of Valletta will however have full access to the Capital City including parking upon presentation of their Identity Card, with the exception of Triq San Pawl, which will not be accessible to anyone throughout Notte Bianca . Transport Malta officials will be available on site for traffic management.
Special arrangements were also made for people with special needs. Blue badge holders can park in a dedicated parking area on South Street.
This year, the Notte Bianca will return with a bang, with hundreds of artists joining in one memorable evening, we invite the general public to join us in this wonderful celebration. And remember: ‘Whatever you want, you got it!
