Concerts at the weekend: KIZ in Cologne
The trio is currently traveling through Germany with their “Rap on Hatred” tour. Now Nico, Maxim and Tarek are stopping in Cologne.
A year and a half ago, after a long wait, KIZ finally released their album “Rap über Hass”. Even the lead single made it clear: the name of the record says it all. And today whoever is still surprised when the trio’s tone gets a bit rougher, there’s really no help left. Since February 2022 Nico, Tarek and Maxim have been traveling through Germany with the new songs in their luggage. Am 30. September do KIZ Cologne Stop. Ah 7.30 p.m does the show go in the Lanxess Arena Come on.
KIZ have been stirring up the German scene for 22 years now. From the beginning, the trio has repeatedly relied on lyrical moments of shock and tastelessness. However, the verbal abuse is always meant to be satirical, and offstage KIZ regularly make it clear that they have nothing to do with racism, misogyny or homophobia. With this remarkable record, they not only managed to somehow survive for two decades – they are still one of the most successful rap formations in Germany. This is all the more astonishing because from the beginning there were repeated efforts to silence the three. With the single “Kinderkram” on “Rap über Hass” (Rap on Hatred), KIZ themselves admitted that getting older is not always easy in this context. But one thing is also clear: you don’t even think about quitting.
