Work grants from the Canton of Zurich in the field of visual arts
From September 29 to October 9, 2022, the Canton of Zurich’s exhibition of works will offer a diverse insight into professional art in the Canton of Zurich. As part of the exhibition, the Culture Department is offering 12 work grants of CHF 24,000 each. The work grants are maximum support for Zurich artists and at the same time recognition of their work. With a work grant, the canton supports them in the further development of their artistic activities and allows them to pursue their profession without significant pressure via a certain level of supervision.
248 artists from the canton of Zurich applied for a work grant this year. In a two-stage process, a six-person jury assessed the portfolios submitted. Based on their development over the past three years, the jury invited 28 artists, a trio and a duo to the 2022 exhibition. Your contributions to the exhibition form the basis for awarding the prizes. The jury’s recommendation is based on the artistic quality and originality of the works on display.
