The new eco – More than 2,300 job offers offered this Thursday in the village of recruiters in Dijon
This fifth edition of the recruiters’ village is organized by the agency Aglaé Events on the Place de la République in Dijon. Nearly a hundred companies and structures welcome you under heated barnums. It is therefore advisable to come with several CVs.
Aglaé Events organizes this type of event throughout France to connect employers and job seekers in a context where the labor market has changed significantly in the space of a few years. Is it really useful for companies and for those who are looking for a job? Interview with Antoine Tallis, the director and founder ofAglaé Events.
How many companies and training centers participate in this event “The village of recruiters”?
This year, on a little more than 85 stands distributed between a little more than a dozen training organizations, a little more than a dozen employment agencies as well. All the rest are companies, so we have about sixty.
Was it easy to convince everyone?
These days, we will say that it is easier than in past years because all companies are recruiting today and they are all short of candidates. This means that concretely, we are in a post covid situation where all companies “bounce back” and, at Aglaé Events, we are also part of it, because we have been on the bench for a while because of the health crisis. . All these companies now need to find people to work and ensure the development of the company or already provide electricity. And unfortunately, there are candidates who have disappeared from circulation because, if we take the example of catering, many of them left for training. There is a real shortage of candidates.
What are the sectors of activity present in this village of recruiters?
On a really kind of everything. Agriculture, banking, insurance, mass distribution, all types of sectors.
For what types of contracts?
A lot of permanent contracts because today, companies very easily draw this type of contract to retain candidates. Today, the candidate must understand that he is in a position of strength. So it’s also time to move around and see what companies can offer.
On the job market, there are sometimes somewhat bogus advertisements. Are you sure these are real offers?
Yes, we do. In addition, they are transmitted to Pôle emploi, which is also carried out on its side, as it is a double check. And then today, we don’t have companies that are going to play the pipe because they already really need to find people. It may happen that they are a position that is not yet open but will open in some time. And in this case, they do what is called “sourcing”, that is to say that they collect potential candidates to save time for when they will actually open the position.
Do these recruiting companies pay a participation fee to be present in this recruiters’ village?
We are on a 100% private economic model. Let the listeners be reassured, it is not public funds that pay the village of recruiters, it is the companies that fully finance this operation. So it goes without saying that when they go out for just €1,000 for a stand, they expect a party to meet people and then come up with offers.
Does this type of job dating really allow you to recruit?
Yes, yes and yes, because it saves them time. I have experienced it myself. For example, I am looking for two sedentary commercial consultants for Aglaé Events. I’m having a hard time finding them. I’ve been going through all the CV libraries for six months and contacting potential profiles who are themselves called five times a day. Clearly, when you are a small structure, you suspect a little complicated.
Does the recruiter’s village really allow you to recruit?
In Dijon, this is the fifth edition of the village of recruiters this year on the Place de la République. And to know its effectiveness, the Aglaé Events agency, organizer of the event, then surveys the companies several times once the event is over.
“We are in constant contact with the companies, especially since there are many who come back. We survey them, on D+7. We ask them how many candidates they met on D-Day and we resound them at D+30. And so when we take stock with the city of Dijon and the metropolis, we manage to have figures. Anyway, an operation like Dijon, it’s about 100 to 150 recruitments which are carried out thanks to the event. We always have the trades in tension which have existed for years such as transport, logistics, construction.. These companies are loyal and come back every year. The catering also afterwards, has always been a multi-sector operation and we always manage to cover all sectors of activity with, each time, at least one or two companies.” says Antoine Tallis.
