Tens of thousands of people demonstrated again in Prague for “Czechia first”. Ortel sang the anthem

Sugar Mizzy September 28, 2022

The event started shortly after 14:00 with the Czech national anthem. It was sung by the singer Tomáš Ortel, whose original name was Tomáš Hnídek.

“We want to turn the political direction in our country by 180 degrees. We want to achieve this change in a non-violent way,” said Havel. According to the second of the organizers, Ladislav Vrábel, the government should resign, new elections should be called and “pro-national experts” should take over the management of the country.

The demonstrators brought with them national flags and anti-government banners. They chanted “resignation”, “shame” or “thieves”. Speakers criticized the government’s approach to capping energy prices. According to the speakers, there will be shortages and this will also be reflected in food shortages. They also complained about lack of freedom, censorship or totalitarianism. They marked themselves as dissenters. The speakers opposed the war and the supply of arms to Ukraine.

“If we as a nation manage to change the political direction in the country, we will not send any weapons,” said Vrábel.

The organizers said that on October 10 they will go to President Miloš Zeman, who they will ask to dismiss the government of Petr Fiala and call early elections. They are calling another protest on Wenceslas Square for October 28.

The speakers included Miroslav Ševčík, dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague, and Zdeněk Jandejsek, the former head of the Agrarian Chamber. SPD MP Jaroslav Foldyna, Communist leader Kateřina Konečná and Trikolora leader Zuzana Majerová Zahradníková appeared on stage.

Iva Rosická brought the dove as a symbol of peace to Wenceslas Square. She then let her off the stage. “We are not Russophiles, we love the Czech land, we want love and peace,” said Rosická.

The German MEP from the anti-immigration party Alternative for Germany (AfD) Christine Andersonová and the German AfD MP Petr Bystroň came to support the protesters. According to him, the populists are fighting for the people against the globalists, namely for “family, God, homeland and our freedom”. He and other speakers supported former US President Donald Trump.

The organizers called on the deputies to resign from their parties, keep their mandate and work as independents “directly for the Czech nation”.

The organizers had major minor technical problems with the transmission of events from Wenceslas Square to other cities.

According to the estimate of the police and the secretary of the Brno-střed municipal district, Petr Štika, about 1,500 people gathered in Brno at Zelné trhu. According to the police, hundreds of people gathered in Pilsen’s central Republic Square, around 500 in Liberec in front of the House of Culture, and around a hundred in Olomouc in the area in front of the regional office by the train station.

Protesters in Wenceslas Square are signing up to the plan called “Czech Republic in 1st place”, which is available on the event’s website.

The plan lists ten demands, among them, for example, the provision of gas at low prices from the Russian Federation, military neutrality or “the end of the planned settlement of the nation”.

In the audio trailer, the organization defines itself against the government of Petr Fiala (ODS): “Together we will take our country back from the five-demolition.”

A referendum on buying gas from Russia?

According to the information provided on the official website, the convener of the demonstration is Ladislav Vrábl, who announced on his Facebook account a few days ago that the Ukrainian occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk are “joining the Russian Federation”. He referred to the “preliminary results of 97 percent of public opinion”.

The sparrow is according to the server’s earlier information Currently.cz insolvent and owes three million crowns. According to the server, after the last demonstration, the court summoned her and demanded an explanation of what Vrábel had done with the hundreds of thousands of dollars sent to him by supporters to support the event.

How pointed out the weekly Hrot, Vrábel was recently a guest on the broadcast of the Serbian propaganda channel Sputnik, where he called for the Czechia to become more oriented towards Russia.

“We demand that the Czech Republic be militarily neutral and that it also orients itself towards Russia, primarily in order to secure cheap Russian gas,” she said on Kremlin television. He repeated that he does not understand why anyone is attacking him for working for Russia.

Regarding Wednesday’s demonstration, Vrábel said that he wanted to announce a demand for “announcing a referendum on the direct purchase of cheap gas from the Russian Federation.”

The organizers of the protest describe themselves as non-political citizens.

Among the supporters of these on the website are, among others, SPD MP Jiří Kobza, chairwoman of the Trikolora movement Zuzana Majerová, communist candidate for president Josef Skály, economist and dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague Miroslav Ševčík, or lawyer and candidate for the senate Jana Zwyrtek Hamplová.

Similar to the previous demonstration, a group of people from the opposite opinion spectrum also gathered near the museum in the upper part of the square.
